地方工作室這些年從類型與原型研究到地域類型研究,一直在持續(xù)關(guān)注和探索地方建筑的當(dāng)代性表達(dá),諸如2018年的田漢文化園、2022年的江華瑤族水口鎮(zhèn)如意村文化服務(wù)中心及特色工坊,而后湖藝術(shù)園麥垛空間,則是近兩年工作室在此基礎(chǔ)之上相同類型的又一思考與實(shí)踐。

麥垛空間位于湖南長沙后湖藝術(shù)園,園區(qū)原為長沙市自發(fā)生長起來的特殊“城中村”,坐落于岳麓山腳下,同時(shí)處在大學(xué)城中心位置。后湖藝術(shù)園從上世紀(jì)50年代開始,歷經(jīng)漁場、藝術(shù)培訓(xùn)、藝術(shù)展示等,現(xiàn)已成為長沙獨(dú)特的文化藝術(shù)地標(biāo)。其中,麥垛空間是一處集展覽、藝術(shù)沙龍、音樂表演、文創(chuàng)交流等于一體的小型社區(qū)文化綜合體。
Straw Stack Space is located in Houhu Art Park in Changsha, Hunan Province, which is a special ‘village in the middle of the city’ in Changsha that grew up spontaneously, located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain, and in the centre of the university town. Since the 1950s, the Houhu Art Park has become a unique cultural landmark in Changsha through its history of fisheries, art training and art exhibitions. And, Straw Stack Space is a small community cultural complex in Houhu Lake, integrates exhibitions, art salons, music performances and cultural and creative exchanges.

麥垛空間以純粹的歐式幾何——方與圓作為基本圖式語言,通過抽象和隱喻鄉(xiāng)村景觀中的“麥(稻)草堆”、圓形谷倉、曬谷場等記憶場景,試圖喚醒后湖昔日作為田野鄉(xiāng)間的詩意氛圍。建筑占用兩處民居用地,我們將一處房屋采用6個(gè)“圓筒”并置組合,另一處房屋則采取1個(gè)純粹“方體”中植入1個(gè)“圓筒”,陣列圓筒與標(biāo)準(zhǔn)方體形成一種同構(gòu)、翻轉(zhuǎn)的圖底關(guān)系。
Using pure ‘Euclidean geometry’ ---square and circle as the basic graphic language, Straw Stack Space tries to revive the poetic atmosphere of Houhu's past as a field and countryside through the abstraction and metaphor of ‘wheat (rice) haystacks’, round barns, sunbathing yards and other memorable scenes in the rural landscape. The building occupies two residential sites, and we combined one house with six ‘cylinders’ in juxtaposition, while the other house has one ‘cylinder’ implanted in a pure ‘square’. The cylinder array and the standard square form an isomorphic and inverted base relationship.
發(fā)生在麥垛空間中帶有“自主性”或“意外感”的公共文化藝術(shù)活動(dòng),諸如當(dāng)代藝術(shù)畫展、大學(xué)畢業(yè)設(shè)計(jì)展、小型音樂趴、現(xiàn)代舞蹈、草坪音樂節(jié)等,共同指向了“空間”所具有的“功能轉(zhuǎn)換”能力。此時(shí)的它已然脫離了設(shè)計(jì)最初的預(yù)判,產(chǎn)生了他者的解讀和詮釋,卻也是對我們一種意外的褒獎(jiǎng)。
The public cultural and artistic activities that take place in the Straw Stack Space with a sense of ‘a(chǎn)utonomy’ or ‘a(chǎn)ccident’, such as contemporary art exhibitions, university graduation design exhibitions, small-scale music parties, modern dances, lawn music festivals, etc. At this point, the ‘space’ has the ability of ‘functional transformation’, it has already departed from the original design preconception, and has generated other interpretations, but it is also an unexpected praise to us.
麥垛空間的開窗主要以空間體驗(yàn)為導(dǎo)向,尤其強(qiáng)化了頂光的使用:當(dāng)光從建筑圓筒空間上部拋撒下來,透過圓筒的豎直指向性,將人的視覺焦點(diǎn)引向天空,建立一種空間、身體與天地相互交融的關(guān)系。配合陣列圓筒的幾何秩序,試圖讓身體深度感知某種儀式、安靜、詩意的空間氛圍。
The windows of the Straw Stack Space are mainly orientated to spatial experience, especially strengthening the use of natural top light: when the light is thrown down from the upper part of the building's cylindrical space, through the vertical directivity of the cylinders, it draws one's visual focus to the sky, establishing a relationship between the space, the body and the sky and the earth. Together with the geometrical order of the arrayed cylinders, it tries to let the body deeply perceive a certain ritual, quiet and poetic spatial atmosphere.
總體而言,麥垛空間立足于后湖藝術(shù)園的現(xiàn)實(shí)場地體驗(yàn),強(qiáng)調(diào)公共性及藝術(shù)性,嘗試懸置周邊模式化、常態(tài)化、慣性式的市場思維與設(shè)計(jì)負(fù)擔(dān),避免流行、“快餐式”的符號化表達(dá),實(shí)驗(yàn)性地讓建筑回到某種純粹、抽象、直覺的相對“穩(wěn)固”狀態(tài)——建筑僅作為一個(gè)庇護(hù)場所的“原初”意義。
Overall, Straw Stack Space is based on the real-life experience of the Houhu Art Park, emphasising on publicity and artistry, attempting to suspend the surrounding patterned, normalised and inertial market thinking and design burdens, avoiding popular, ‘fast-food’ symbolic expressions, and experimenting with the return of architecture to a certain kind of pure, abstract, intuitive and relative ‘solidity’. Experimentally, the building returns to a pure, abstract, intuitive and relatively ‘solid’ state - the ‘original’ meaning of the building as a place of refuge.
項(xiàng)目完成后,無論是原住村民、周邊市民、大學(xué)師生、外來游客,當(dāng)大家在麥垛空間休閑時(shí),他們會(huì)從中感受到一種特殊的“空間”信息,這一信息試圖喚起某個(gè)熟悉的場所記憶或陌生的遐想,這是屬于后湖藝術(shù)園抑或是有關(guān)麥垛空間獨(dú)特的“地方感”,也是我們尋找的原型的力量。
After the completion of the project, whether it is the indigenous villagers, neighbouring citizens, teachers and students of the university, or foreign tourists, when they are relaxing in the Straw Stack Space, they will feel a special kind of ‘spatial’ information, which tries to evoke the memory of a familiar place or unfamiliar reverie, which belongs to the unique ‘sense of place’ of the Houhu Lake Art Park or the Straw Stack Space, and it is also the power of the archetype that we are looking for.
